    Position

    The Production Designer will report directly to the Design Project Manager.  The primary responsibilities of the position will be to assist the project manager in the management of multiple interior architectural projects as well as exterior enhancment and trasformation of the commercial assets from conceptual design or design development through construction.  This includes the ability to select, evaluate, and implement procedures and techniques used on projects for a variety of tenant improvement and capital improvement projects in order to complete the work on time and on budget, consistent with the Policy and Procedures of SteelWave CDS.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Assist the PM or Design Director to determine architectural preferences, purpose and function of environment, budget, types of construction, equipment to be installed, and other factors which affect planning interior environments and exterior renovation or enhancement.
    • Meet with the project manager, design director or to understand priorities and objectives
    • Assist the PM to develop a design schedule.
    • Use Revit to develop plans, specification and details according to SteelWave CDS design standards and guideline.
    • Make necessary adjustments to the design to achieve business plans, proforma, common area estimates, market ready estimates and Tenant improvement objectives
    • Submit and process contract documents for timely review and issuance of required building permits and governmental approvals

    Qualifications

    • Superior skills in customer service, communication, supervision, code knowledge and design trends
    • Must have a strong working knowledge of Revit. Minimum of 2 years of drafting and production drawings using the latest technology in Revit, sketch up. CAD proficient. A strong demonstration of technical knowledge may qualify as a substitute for lacking experience.
    • Minimum 4-year associated degree in architectural design, drafting, interior architecture

    Supervisory Responsibilities:  N/A

     

    Travel:   Ability to travel by car within the respective region for client meetings, site and project inspection.  Ability to travel to other Steelwave regional offices on as needed basis.
